Golf Clubs in Preston
Golf Courses in Preston are built over 100 years ago and have now become well-established and respected golf facilities for golf in the North West. The courses are playable all year round thanks to the excellent drainage and layout.
The greens are amongst the finest of all England clubs and Lancashire golf clubs have prepared competition standards which have led them to being one of the most popular pay and play courses for golf in the North West.
The Par 71 course measures 6359 yards from the white tees, 6112 from the yellows tees and 5508 from the ladies tees. Ashton & Lea is a fairly flat course and provides a fair test of golf for players of all abilities, but it is a course that requires the player to think and plot their way round.
Nestling on the bank of the River Ribble just south-west of Preston and some 5 miles west of M6 (J29), the 106 years old club has over the past 4 years hosted the Lancashire Seniors Open, a PGA Qualifier, the UK Corporate Games and the Lancashire Classic.
The superb 18 hole, 6,278 yard, par 71 course dates back to 1892 with the design influenced by such luminaries as James Braid, Harry Varden, Alistair Mackenzie & Sandy Herd.
