“We’ve video called each other”
Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp has revealed he slid into UCLan student and Preston shot girl Ekin-Su Culculoglu’s DMs after she won the eighth series of Love Island.
The 17-year-old, who plays Will Byers in the Netflix sensation, was speaking with co-star Millie Bobby Brown during a live social media chat when he revealed “I DM’d Ekin-Su and she answered me”.
A shocked Millie said “she did!?” before Noah laughed, adding: “We’ve video called each other.”
Millie, 18, who plays Eleven on the science fiction horror series, then scowled saying “Ekin-Su”. She then jokingly called Noah a “liar”, imitating a famous moment between Ekin-Su and fellow winner Davide Sanclimenti on the ITV2 show.
A clip of the exchange between Noah and Millie was shared on Twitter with one fan saying “Ekin international world star loved by everyone #LoveIsland”.
Another commented: “Millie Bobby brown and Noah Schnapp talking about Ekin Su. Noah DM’d Ekin and she replied. Such an interesting crossover. Now I’m curious about who else is in Ekin’s DMs.”
A third wrote “Noah Schnapp following Ekin-Su will never not be funny to me” while a fourth person said: “There is one thing I will do and that is defend Ekin-Su. Noah Schnapp get her that Stranger Things cameo.”
Another fan also shared a screengrab of a post by Noah On Instagram when Ekin-Su was announced the series winner. The American actor, known for his bowl cut hair style in the series, simply wrote “Yes!!”
Ekin-Su and Davide were crowned the winning couple of the hit ITV2 dating show last Monday and received the £50,000 prize. After the finale, ITV revealed Ekin-Su and Davide had been the clear winners of the public vote with 63.7%.
Last night, Summer Botwe and Coco Lodge shared a fiery exchange during the show’s reunion episode. During the Love Island: Aftersun reunion episode, Summer and Coco, who both entered the show during the Casa Amor process, butted heads when a group of islanders were asked who they had been spending time with since leaving the show. While speaking to Summer, Coco, Josh Samuel Le Grove and Billy Brown, Love Island “superfan” presenter Darren Harriott asked: “Spill the tea, who’s been getting off with who? Come on, let us know!”
After Billy confirmed there had “been a few”, Summer added: “I know someone who wishes they would have got with someone, but we move. Better not talk too much.”
The comment appeared to ruffle Coco’s feathers, as she responded saying: “It’s just banter. If you can’t handle a big personality don’t go on reality TV. It’s banter.”
An argument then ensued, with the pair raising their voices to speak over the top of one another. Summer continued: “Friends don’t say certain things hun but alright.”
To which Coco replied: “OK, well he’s been moving mad friendly, so.” Tensions reached boiling point as Summer said: “Maybe we shouldn’t talk about you, if you want to talk about you, we can. Lean back.”
Comedian Harriott, 33, then stepped in to diffuse the situation. It was not clear exactly who the pair were referring to during the argument.
