A Greggs store in Preston has closed down for good the food giant has confirmed.

The bakery, located in Deepdale Retail Park in Preston, stood within the dedicated food section of the park. Since Christmas 2022, the store which was once a popular lunchtime spot could be seen with blacked-out windows.

Overhead signage can still be seen on the unit that sits in between a Subway and a O2 unit. There are no signs of life left at the unit on Blackpool Road.

The company confirms the Deepdale store was one of six Greggs units in the city with a recently opened outlet store on London Road. Now they have announced its permanent closure.

A Greggs spokesperson told LancsLive: “We can confirm that the Greggs shop in Deepdale Retail Park permanently closed in December 2022. However, we have five shops in Preston alongside one Greggs Outlet, so customers still have plenty of locations they can visit to get hold of their Greggs favourites.”
