The Good Morning Britain and Loose Women host said it was a ‘complete privilege’ to attend the event
Ranvir Singh returned to her roots as she attended the graduation ceremony at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and said it was a ‘complete privilege’ to do so.
The first of the December graduation ceremonies took place at the Preston-based university yesterday (December 13). Students from the school of business and enterprise, schools of arts and media, school of community health and midwifery and school of natural sciences took to the graduation stage.
Ranvir Singh, from Preston, attended the ceremony and took to the stage to give a commencement speech. The UCLan Chancellor said: “Hi everybody. Congratulations to all of you.
“It’s always a complete privilege for me to be there on these events.”
In a post shared on her Instagram stories, she added: “So good to see everyone at graduation today.”
The journalist was once a UCLan student herself as she attended the university to study for a postgraduate qualification in journalism, which likely shaped her successful career in TV. She had initially got a degree in English and Philosophy from Lancaster University.
Ranvir now works on ITV’s Good Morning Britain and as the host of gameshow Riddiculous which sees teams face a series of riddles and confusing conundrums in hope of winning some prize money. She has also presented on Loose Women and stood in for Lorraine kelly on her self-titled ITV morning show.
UCLan said the first graduation day was a success, writing on Instagram: “A perfect first day to start our December graduation ceremonies!”
