M6 roundabout crash in Bamber Bridge leaves car overturned

The incident happened on Church Street and left the M6 southbound slip road closed

A car flipped onto its roof after a crash on a motorway roundabout in Bamber Bridge leaving an exit slip road closed.

Police and firefighters were called to the incident on the M6 earlier today (August 30). A video taken of the crash scene showed the overturned vehicle with emergency services nearby.

An eyewitness reported the roundabout near Bamber Bridge leading to the M6 was closed southbound due to the flipped car on the slip road. Police officers were seen diverting motorists.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham were called to the incident on Church Road at 7.48am. The road traffic collision involved two vehicles with one on its roof.

No injuries were reported and firefighters were in attendance for around 40 minutes to make the scene safe. The roundabout and slip road have since fully reopened.

In a statement, a fire service spokesperson said: “Two fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham were called to a road traffic collision on Church Road in Bamber Bridge at 7:48am. The RTC involved two vehicles, with one of the vehicles on its roof.

“No injuries were reported and firefighters made the scene safe. Crews were in attendance for approximately 40 minutes.”
