Ranvir Singh has been in a relationship with Louis Church for two years after meeting on Strictly Come Dancing
Preston’s resident Good Morning Britain star Ranvir Singh has told critics where to go when it comes to the 18 year age gap with her new boyfriend.
Ranvir met boyfriend Louis Church when she was competing on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 as he was working on the show’s production team. Opening up on her two-year relationship with 27-year-old Louis, 45-year-old Ranvir said age means nothing to them. She said “age is no guarantee of someone being wonderful to you”.
The journalist and broadcaster leads a somewhat private life for someone in the national spotlight, never discussing her relationship with Lewis before other than to confirm they were an item. But in an interview with The Sun ‘s Fabulous Magazine, Ranvir said: “We don’t ever joke about the age difference.

“Actually, age is no guarantee of someone being wonderful to you. There are complete gits who are exactly the same age as you. Age can define life experience, but that is only valuable if you’ve learned from it – it doesn’t always mean you’ve got your life figured out.
“You can find a 50-year-old man who will have no idea about how to be a good partner. So being 27 is not reflective of that.”
Ranvir explained that when she was 27 she was “probably a lot more immature than Louis is”. She said: “There are things that he is better at than I am in terms of just being a good human being. And I’m learning from him. So to me, it’s a complete joy.”
Prior to her romance with Louis, Ranvir spent eight years with her ex-husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal. They announced their split in autumn 2020 before Ranvir appeared on Strictly. Together, they have a 10-year-old son, Tushaan.
The lockdown edition of Strictly was when Louis and Ranvir met. As a result of lockdown and isolation measures, Ranvir revealed how she spent a lot of time on the BBC programme in her own dressing room to adhere to Covid rules.
“It was a very singular experience, which was unique. I know lots of people who have done the show in previous years and usually it’s a very adrenalin-fuelled group experience, but I was in my dressing room on my own a lot of the time,” she said.
“So then, in a funny way, when somebody did come to the door, it was like: ‘Oh, hi!’ And Louis was one of those people. He’s a really calm person. And in the midst of all of that, there was just a really lovely energy.”
Ranvir revealed her son Tushaan has also given her and Louis the seal of approval.
