Danny Andrews looks absolutely ripped following an intensive four-month training programme
A Preston bodybuilder who went viral for his lived extreme fish and rice cake diet says he now “can’t stand the stuff” after unveiling his four-month body transformation.
Danny Andrews – most commonly known as the ‘fish and rice cake guy – became an internet sensation in May 2007 when a clip from BBC Three’s short-lived documentary Baby Faced Bodybuilders went viral.
Speaking ahead of the Mr Cumbria bodybuilder competition, the fresh-faced teenager said: “At eight o’clock in the morning, I’ll have fish and a rice cake. At 10 o’clock, I’ll have fish.
“At 12 o’clock, I’ll have fish and a rice cake. At two o’clock, I’ll have fish. At four o’clock, just before I train, I’ll have fish and a rice cake.
“I’ll train and I’ll have me fish and I’ll come home, have some more fish with a rice cake and then have some fish before I go to bed and that’s it for the day.”
Fifteen years on from his rise to fame, Danny, now 31, works as a barber in Preston but has kept his passion of bodybuilding. He has also looks absolutely ripped following an intensive four-month training programme, the Daily Star reports.
Danny, owns Danny’s Barber Shop in Woodplumpton Road, Fulwood, has been hitting the gym regularly with a focus on muscle building on his arms and legs. He can now lift 60kg in dumbbell press and 183kg bench press.
He recently posted on Instagram: “6 weeks of training hard and eating well!! Its first time in 8 years!! Had a blow out this weekend, so getting back to it, going to get even better.”
Fans were surprised when they saw his much leaner build and toned muscles. Asked if he followed his “fish and rice cakes” diet, he said: “Mate the diet isn’t far off. No carbs just meat.
“No fish though, can’t stand the stuff haha.”
One said: “Glad to see you back great shape brother.” Another joked: “So this is what fish and rice cakes get you!”
