🌳 Course Information

  • Starts and finishes in Avenham Park.
  • Route includes:
    • Frenchwood Recreational Ground
    • Miller Park
    • Riverside paths along the River Ribble
  • Terrain: Mix of surfaced paths and grass.
  • Features gentle undulations for added challenge.
  • The 10k is a double lap of the 5k route.

👥 Taking Part

  • Participants can join:
    • Individually
    • As a group
    • As a Group Leader organising friends, family, or colleagues
  • All participation helps fund life‑saving cancer research.

 

🎉 On-the-Day Experience

  • Warm-up session provided before the start.
  • Supporters and spectators are welcome and encouraged.
  • Post‑event atmosphere includes:
  • Picnics in the park
  • Celebration with other participants and families

🚗 Travel & Parking

By Car

  • No designated event parking due to central location.
  • Nearby public car parks (approx. 10‑minute walk):
    • Fishergate Car Park
    • Preston Railway Station Car Park
    • Avenham Car Park
  • Drop‑off points: Fishergate Car Park or surrounding streets (with care).
  • Blue Badge Parking: Available in major nearby car parks.
  • Volunteer Parking: Volunteers asked to use public car parks or walk/use public transport.
  • EV Charging: Available at Avenham Car Park (Syke St, PR1 3BN).

Public Transport

  • Pedestrians: Main entrance via Ribblesdale Place.
  • Bus: Short walk from stops near Preston Railway Station.
  • Train: Preston Station is a short walk from the park.
  • Cycling: Limited bike racks at Pavilion Café; more at Preston Station.
