Cabus Nook Lane, which runs between Preston and Lancaster, remains closed
A man has been rushed to hospital after a Mercedes van crashed off a bridge into a canal in Scorton.
The driver of the van, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment. Lancs Road police have said that a driver was “lucky to walk away with only minor injuries” but had had been reported for suspected “due care offences”.
Officers say the road remains closed to allow for the vehicle to be recovered today. There is no indication as to when the road will reopen.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We were called around 10.45pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 26) to a report of a collision in Cabus Nook Lane, Cabus. It was reported a Mercedes van had come off a bridge into a canal.
“Emergency services attended with the driver, a man in his 30s, taken to hospital for treatment. The road is closed to allow recovery of the vehicle today (Thursday, October 27).”
According to traffic monitoring website, INRIX, traffic is coping well with the closure. It said: “Cabus Nook Lane in both directions closed due to accident from B5272 Park Lane to Carnaby Close..”
